"The Party Quirks" as it has now come to be called, has a long rich history. Starting around four years back, Natasha Ejaz and Danish Ali, bored out of their wits and itching to do something out-of-the-box put together their impish little heads and thought of performing improv comedy in Islamabad.

After a semi-vigerous search they were joined by Fresh-off-the-boat Jawad Rana, returning to the promised land after performing Stand up to cutthroat audiences in the US and shaking hands with George Carlin.

Osman Khalid Butt, who is now a common name in Pakistan's theatre and performing arts circles besides being the face of Zong, joined up with his spicy and saucy antics to the troupe.

And lastly, and definitely the leastly, Ovais Mushtaq (Me) who had worked with Natasha and Osman, and had been longing to satisfy his comic allure for ages completed the team.

After months of practice and learning, this set of miscreants put up a show at Civil Junction. Gaining instant popularity, they continued to perform shows almost on a monthly basis at CJ. The response from the audiences was extremely encouraging. People instantly took a liking to Improv Comedy and one could always see a satisfied crown at the end of the show.

After a series of shows, the tragedy that hit Pakistan on Saturday, the 8th of October 2005, jolted the troupes foundation as well.

Danish, decided to move to Karachi since he was sick and tired of the medical school where he was studying in Islamabad. He soon made acquaintence with the famous Saad Haroon, and the two of them went on to work on the Improv Comedy Troupe "Black Fish", TV comedy show "The real news" and a new improv comedy group "Shark". Also, Danish continued to explore stand up comedy and had several very successful tours along with Saad.

After a break oof almost a year, Ovais, Osman, Natasha and Jawad joined forces to bring improv to the masses once again. This time, they were joined by the one and only Hassan Bajwa who did an amazing job as the show host. A serious of wonderful and memorable shows was performed in Civil Junction which were appreciated by the Isloo folk as well as the expats and diplomats.

The United Nations Liason office asked us to do a show for them at the UN club to entertain the entertainment starved UN delegates. For the first time, we were going to do an entire event management exercise. We were supposed to not only entertain the elders, but also keep the children under wrap. Rooshanie Ejaz and Sonya Ali, our long time compadres adn friends helped us pull off this magnanomous feat.

It was truly a unique experience. Our audience was set around the swimming pool with the stage set on a corner. Lights were low and the mood was rich as we started. Everything came together from Hassan Bajwa's quippy hosting to Jawad's stand up routines. We performed a variety of games that night. Even though the audience was different from the close and intense setting than our usual at CJ, they loved the whole show and we got a great response.

As it had come to be our tradition, after an extremely successful show, we all got busy in our own business and the Improv went into hibernation once again.

As my friends and collegues are very well aware of the fact that it is very hard for me to stay out of the limelight for long. The intoxicating magic of the spotlight was too great for me and I met up with Jawad to brainstorm on how to clam our showbiz nerves. Immediately we thought up of reviving improv.

Here entered Fahad Masood, a friend of mine since the university days where were notorious for our comedic antics and showbiz personas. Fahad had just returned from the US and was immediately recruited into the troupe.

Ever since then, known to be called "The Party Quirks", we have been doing monthly shows at Civil Junction, Islamabad and doing our best to entertain the audiences of Islamabad.
